YUP ENC EXECUTIVE BOARD
Jameesha Harris
Born and raised in Albany, New York, Jameesha Harris moved to New Bern twelve years ago and has devoted her time to the city to be the change she wishes to see. Harris is the proud wife to her husband of twelve years, Aaron Harris. Together, they are raising three beautiful children: Aaron Jr. (18), Tyler (15), and Olivia (7). She possesses a Bachelor of Science in University Studies with a Thematic Core in Administrative Studies from East Carolina University. She is currently pursuing her MBA at Winston-Salem State University.
In addition to her studies, Harris owns her own Real Estate Company in North Carolina. Although the role can be challenging at times, she is committed to helping families in any way she can. Her community involvement has ranged from serving as Assistant Treasurer for the NAACP to being on the Board of Advisors for the African American Heritage & Cultural Center of New Bern as a founding member and being appointed as a Commissioner to the NC Human Relations Board by Governor Roy Cooper.
Harris also co-founded the Young Urban Professionals of ENC to help underserved individuals that live in marginalized communities who do not have access to resources to be successful in owning and operating a business. The ambition Harris possesses is a characteristic that she is exceptionally proud of and is motivated by knowing that her actions can have a positive impact on her community for years to come.
Reginald Barrett
Reginald was born and raised in Eastern North Carolina. Residing where the need for change is. Reginald spends much of his time working and advocating for social change in and around the community.
He is a graduate of North Carolina Central University and advocates proudly of the support of Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
In addition, he serves as 1st vice President of Pitt County NAACP, Board chair of NCCIVIL, Co-Host of Civil Talks Radio Show, & Founder of Soul Fitness Movement.
Talina Massey
Excellent knowledge, training and education have allowed Talina to hold various leadership positions of increased responsibilities, extensive capabilities and enhanced business skills. Over the last 20 years she has been employed by companies ranging from small startups to multibillion-dollar corporations such as Yahoo. She has thorough experience in business administrative procedures, sales (government and commercial) and project management. Talina has coordinated various business regulation certifications (MBE, GSA, CIMS, Hubzone) and start-ups (SCORE mentor), which when coupled with her keen attention to detail, dynamic management and leadership styles augment her ability to organize and run a productive environment.
As a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps Talina has gained invaluable leadership experience in her capacity as a Training Supervisor, Data Chief and Data Network Specialist. She is currently employed as the Chief of Staff – Health Care Practioners for BrainTap Technologies.
As a current resident of New Bern, She organizes and volunteers in the community (Grassroots Leadership, Project Restore, Juneteenth of New Bern, Craven Arts Council), actively attends church (Without Limits Christian Center), is a small business entrepreneur (Business Savvy, LLC and Suga’s), executive officer in her local NAACP branch (Craven County Branch NAACP), and amazing mother of 2.
