Year-end Board Address

2020

As 2020 comes to a close, we reflect back on not only the tumultuous times that have surely encapsulated our reality but on the bounty of blessings and opportunities that accompanied the seeming chaos. We learned to appreciate the little in-between moments, and cherish our family and loved ones even more. We found intuitive new methods to communicate and connect, as well as rallied our friends and family to help our neighbors and small businesses remain healthy. 2020 was a year of edification, appreciation, and growth through social distance for our Young Urban Professionals throughout Eastern NC. Today, we present a window into the house that our community continues to help YUP build as we all engineer ways to assemble a "new normal" for not just our businesses, but our lives. Have a peek at just some of the work that YUP has been involved in for Q4 2020:

1. Volunteering -

December - Toys for Tots - Greenville - Churches Outreach Network

November 21st - USCT Encampment Food Giveaway

October/November - voter education and registration through various platforms and GOTV events

October 31st - Free PPE and Candy Giveaway with Alderwoman Harris and Alderman Best of City of New Bern

October 20th - YUP leadership assisted with crafting COVID-19 nonprofit grant program with City of New Bern officials

October 3rd - Mumfeast/Craven Arts Council - Bank of the Arts
